The "far out" being used here is a pun for both the '70s expression of excitement such as when someone brings good news and a person responds to it by saying, "Far out!", as well as for distance. When it comes to branding and style, those are exceptions to spelling. Kind of like what you do with your blog, "the sinfull mort" (which I find very interesting, btw). Is "Facebook" "Face Book"? Besides, even when it comes to many hyphenated words, they tend to be debatable, so, as a rule of thumb, it's better to go with no hyphen and therefore two separate words than with two words put together. "Farout" probably wouldn't look so good unless it's in a web address such as the one in our address bars. Thanks for the comment.
