My posts have been late these last few weeks. Instead of posting on late Saturday/early Sunday like I normally had been, I’ve been posting on Mondays. I apologise for this inconsistency but the month has been busier than usual. One of the things that have kept me busiest is a major paper accumulation in my house, let alone my bedroom. I’ve been cleaning out paper junk in my bedroom for the past couple weeks. And I haven’t even cleaned out a quarter of it done yet!
The problem with being a writer, at least for those of us who still like to write on paper and print out our work, is that paper accumulates easily and quickly. We initially don’t know when we will need our old drafts and outlines and so we hang onto them. Print copies of our stories also build up. And these are just a small percentage of the total paper excess in my house! In addition to these, bill notices have piled up over the last ten years, administration paper work and records from my college days have done the same along with other miscellaneous junk. All this accumulation literally collects dust and, in my case, it’s gotten to the point where I’m choking on it in bed at night.
Cleaning out this mess has not only put me behind on my blog and Patreon page. It’s also put me behind in my fiction projects, including the next short story collection that I’ve been shooting for a summer release for. All of these things have been keeping me busy along with the daily duties that we all must take care of such as paying bills, doing laundry and cleaning house. Because of this overload in duties, I am going to put posting on the Fantastic Site on a short hiatus (about three weeks). For the same reason, I will have to continue with the current hiatus on my Patreon page for a few more weeks. However, I’ll continue to post from time to time on my Facebook page, so you can tune in there for updates.
I do want to leave you with one update here though: my short story, “Circa Sixty Years Dead”, is now available to purchase at Smashwords! Smashwords only sells in ebook format so you will not find my book available in print there. However, you can still purchase it in print (as well as ebook format) at Amazon.
As soon as I take care of that paper pile-up problem, I’ll be sure to return to posting here! What do you do about paper accumulation in your home? Do you prevent it before it can occur or do you have to go through it to get rid of stuff?
Until next time . . .

It can pile up. I recently tossed out all old printed versions of my stories that are now books. It was quite the pile.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way to decide what goes when a major pile-up develops.
